Godaddy Domain Price Increase for .Com and .Net
You read that right, just about everyone’s go to company to get the cheapest Domain names, will soon have a price increase. I had received an email from Godaddy, saying that VeriSign, the Domain registry for .Com and .Net will be increasing their price .Com by 7% and .Net by 10%, on July 1st 2010. This price increase will affect and be passed down to Godaddy and their consumers.
However, you can renew your domains for multiple years or register new domains until June 30, and lock in their regular rates.
You can try some of these Godaddy promo codes and see if they will save you any money. It’s been awhile since I’ve used any of them, so I don’t know if they are still good, but I believe some of them were non-expiring. For those of you who normally use Godaddy for domains or about to get your very first domain, then you should definitely register it NOW and not procrastinate.
I used to register new domains at Godaddy but lately, I’ve just been getting them from my hosting company, Hostgator. Just made everything simpler and there wasn’t much of a price difference. Google Webmasters Tools – Sitemap Indexed URL Count Error?
I was doing one of my regular routines just a little while ago, which is to checkout my main blogs and websites with Google Webmasters tools, and I had noticed something that made me say “what the @#?!”
All of my sitemaps were showing I had O indexed url’s. I was in a panic and about to go into a deep depression (only kidding). This is one of the top 3 fears of webmasters, bloggers, internet marketers alike, is to have your site de-indexed by Google.
If you have a site deindexed by Google, all of your hard work you spent into your site is pretty much useless. You will lose all pagerank and slowly be taken out of all Google’s search engine results. It is really really hard to get back in good with the big G too. Usually this can happen if you don’t abide by Google’s policies or algorithms.
So I started checking my sites indexed pages and everything was the same. All of them still had their Page rank and all of my pages that were indexed, still were. I started doing some Googling and reading. I really didn’t find much about deindexed sitemaps until finally I had seen other people were noticing the same thing and questioning this on the Google support forum.
I was totally relieved to see others were experiencing the same thing. I couldn’t think of any reasons for Google to de-index my sites. If you are like me, I can’t let something go until I learn myself on how and why something works or happens.
Anyways, it all ended up being a Google sitemap indexed URL count error…..

You can all breathe a sigh of relief if this happened to you. It’s probably just an error which was showing 0 indexed url’s for your site and Google is on top of it and in fact already resolved it. I actually already checked my Google Webmaster Tools dashboard and everything is back to normal before I even got to publish this post. Talk about panic attack in the middle of my day, but it’s good to know Big G was on top of it and already resolved it. I’m so glad it was a little error on Google’s part and not on my part.

The Yahoo and Microsoft Search Alliance – It’s Coming!
It’s about time a Real Google Adwords alternative is finally in the works. The Yahoo and Microsoft Search Alliance has been given the thumbs up to be carried out in the United States and European Union.
Basically means, the Yahoo Search Marketing and the Microsoft advertising (Adcenter) advertising networks will now be joined together into one powerhouse for those of us who use Pay per click (PPC) or cost per click (CPC) advertising. Once implemented, both of them will be powered by Bing, and we will be able to control our advertising campaigns by using just one platform, Microsoft Adcenter.
Create your add campaign in Adcenter, and launch it, then your adds will show up on Yahoo and all of the Microsoft sites, and networks. It equals to a combined number of searchers of over 150 million in the U.S. and well over 500 million worldwide, which is roughly a 50% increase in search volume, rather than just using one of these networks by itself.
This alliance won’t be ready until end of 2010 or beginning of 2011. Until then, they say just continue using both networks, Yahoo and Microsoft regularly and they are going to make the transition smooth for everybody.
The Yahoo and Microsoft Search Alliance will be more convenient, efficient, and hopefully give a better return on investment (ROI). I know many SEM and Pay Per Click advertisers will be happy.
I have used all three paid search advertising networks before, Google Adwords, Yahoo search and Microsoft Search Marketing, but Google Adwords is what I mostly use. The other two, at least for me don’t deliver enough traffic and some of their functions for setting up campaigns are kind of lame compared to Adwords. Hopefully, both of these things will be improved with their new partnership for search marketing.
This is HUGE for Affiliate Marketers and business owners who use pay per click advertising regularly to drive instant targeted traffic. The Yahoo and Microsoft Alliance will be more cost effective and save time from having two separate accounts.
