Are YOU Actually Committed or Just Another Idealist?

Something that I wish I had learned and took seriously when I was a young child is that having ideas and dreams are a wonderful thing, and everyone has them so we all have that in common.

But, You must Commit 100% of yourself everyday if you actually want to fulfill and achieve your ideas and dreams which is uncommon.

I recently watched a movie on Netflix called, Dwight Howard – In the Moment.

I’m not even a big fan of him or knew really anything about him as person before this movie so it was pretty cool and made me see him in a whole different light. But the one thing that will always stick in my mind that I admire about him the MOST now, was this one part of the movie.

I’m just paraphrasing here, but he said:

When he (Dwight Howard) was a very young child he wrote down and put on the wall his goal and dream, which is still there today by the way. It was to make it in the NBA and be the #1 Draft Pick. I believe he even wrote down the year and age he was going to accomplish this task. His father told him if you want to achieve that goal then YOU better Commit to it today and it’s going to take everything you have to reach it. Dwight told his dad basically, yes sir, and never looked back. He had that goal in his mind everyday since he was a child and started waking up at 4 or 5 every morning to workout, and then again worked out after school until late at night. He did this all the way until he was the #1 Draft Pick in the NBA at the exact year that he said was going to achieve it. – That my friends is one of the coolest stories of achievement that I’ve ever heard.

That’s commitment.

I believe we sometimes get wrapped up in creating ideas and dreaming big to satisfy something within ourselves for the moment. But we never actually believe we’ll ever reach it. Yeah, we’ll dabble at it and give maybe even 50% of ourselves to it at the very beginning, but then we see it’s going to be hard and it soon goes on the back-burner.

If you want to be a successful Internet Marketer, then you better commit 100% to it and be ready to give everything you got and fight for it everyday until you reach that goal, and continue thereafter. – No Excuses.

I know firsthand since I’ve dabbled at internet marketing for a handful of years now, yeah, I’ve had some peaks and lows, but never been actually committed for the long run. Just maybe a bit at the beginning.

So anything you want in life at any age – Be 100% Committed until you reach it – or else you’ll just be another dreamer which there’s nothing wrong with that. Just don’t be expecting anything great in return.
